All Saints’ Youth Mission Trip – Day 1

We’re on the way!!!  A little late start but a safe and wonderful journey.

What an amazing time we all had last night as we hosted and shared our final fundraiser – a spaghetti dinner extraordinaire!  We were overwhelmed by the love and support we felt throughout the afternoon and evening.  Our sending-off commissioning service was powerful to say the least.  We could feel God’s presence as everyone gathered around us, laying their hands on our shoulders, sending us out to minister to the needs of the homeless and hungry in Washington, DC.  Our card of prayerful support travels with us as do all of the beautiful prayer shawls and prayer sweaters.  We can’t wait to share them all!

The campsite in Somerset was wonderful; nestled in the mountains.  The beauty of God’s creation stretches as far as the eye can see.  God was certainly present as we all pitched in and worked together making our home away from home.  The tents went up lickity split and our kitchen was put together so our bellies could be filled with hot dogs warm off the grill.

After a warm and colorful bonfire we turned in for the night knowing God’s presence and your prayers were wrapping us in warmth and peace!

Love and God’s Blessings,
